Dr Syed Shakil Ahmed Rizvi
Paediatrician and Neonatologist
Dr Syed Shakil Ahmed Rizvi is a graduate of Nishtar Medical College, Multan; later pursued his postgraduate training in the United Kingdom. Qualified for his DCH(Glasg), MRCP(UK) in Paediatrics and FRCP(Glasg). Dr Rizvi has been serving in Karachi for over 30 years, where he has worked in renowned medical institutions such as Liaquat National Hospital, Ziauddin Medical University, Baqai University Hospital and Kharadar General Hospital. He has played a key role in setting up Neonatal Intensive Care Units in all of these hospitals.
Associated with the OMI Institute since 1992, he has continued to provide both general Paediatric, immunization services and Neonatal services, including Neonatal Intensive Care. He offers consultation services at the Medicell Clinic, Zamzama, and at OMI Institute.
He has held important positions at the Pakistan Paediatric Association, from where he has been spearheading ‘Neonatal Resuscitation’ training for all medical, paramedical and nursing personnel all over Pakistan. He has also been actively associated with the promotion of breast feeding and has been a part of the international ‘Breast Feeding Hospital Initiative’. He continues to actively participate in all efforts for the eradication of Polio in Pakistan.
